Already in Mahabalipuram the scenes were flooded with pilgrims; on later city visits we visited quite a few temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, including a pre-dawn visit to the Trichy (Tiruchirapalli) Rockfort Temple and a few small temples in the Chettiar region.
