This galleries includes images from visits to
Pompeii (1-70) and Herculaneum (96-end), two Roman cities devastated by the Vesuvius eruption of 79 AD. History feels alive there.
Included are also my impressions of the
Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, where most of the original treasures unearthed from under the volcanic ashes and mud, are kept (71-95).
