Here are my personal impressions from the MAS Opening Weekend in Antwerp. MAS is the "Museum Aan de Stroom" (Museum By the River), housing collections from several former museums. But it is also supposed to be the People's Tower, a place that is hospitable to all Antwerp citizens and visitors, and not just to admire the collections. MAS aims to provide us all with views of the city and river that are normally only accessible to those involved in Religion (Cathedral Tower), Authority (Police Tower) or Finance (Boerentoren, owned by a bank). I liked that philosophy, and tried to capture some of it in photos, thus concentrating on people. I will have to go back some other time for the exhibitions on display.
