These are impressions from the Annual "Pleitwedstrijd René Ridder Victor" of the Antwerp Bar Association, in the main Courtroom of the former Courthouse.
Young apprentice attorneys compete for the title and the honour of representing the Antwerp Bar at similar international competitions.
They have 10 minutes to plead their client's case in a fictitious dispute, and aim to do so in an eloquent and convincing way.
The Jury consists of former Presidents of "De Conferentie" (the Bar's social association). They quote on eloquence, structuring, legal pertinence of the arguments, language and wit.
