In May 2016, Luster Publishers dispatched me to Havana for one week in order to harvest all the illustrations needed for their book "The 500 Hidden Secrets of Havana", latest entry in a successful series of travel guides.
During six very long days, I roamed the streets and alleys of different quarters of the city, ticking off locations on my lists of must-get photos.
And of course, I kept my eyes open for my own kind of hidden (and not so hidden) secrets, in order to make these sketches of a fascinating, vibrant and totally unique city.
Included in this gallery are fleeting memories of the random encounters, smiles and glances that spice up every day: the people of Havana are probably the main asset of the city. Another gallery focuses on the architecture and urban scapes that overwhelm and amaze.
